Military Self Defense Can Be for the Whole Family
59When you think of the words military self defense, you probably come up with a very literal vision of what this is. Clearly, this would be a type of self defense that is used to train our military men and women. It makes perfect sense that you would think this; really, military self defense can’t mean much else.
The thing is that military self defense is a specific style, yes. But it doesn’t apply only to men and women in the armed forces. Military self defense is not for police and other people who come face to face with danger on a regular basis. The truth is that military self defense is something that could be a part of your life and is something that the whole family can gather together to learn.

Military Defense Practice
The practices and techniques of military self defense have been passed down for centuries because they are so effective. Ancient Samurai had their own versions of effective fighting techniques; in our early years, American soldiers in the French and Indian War and WWII had to learn to fight their enemies with just their hands and silent weapons like knives. In the 1950’s, when the U.S. Special Forces came about, military self defense really became a mainstay in all branches of the military. Why? Because it can work quickly and efficiently. When in foreign territory, SF guys need to go undetected and therefore they want to keep their firearms inactive. That means you fight with your hands.
Now flash forward to present day suburbia. You do not live in war-ravaged streets. You are not part of an elite military force. These are accurate statements. However, the fact remains that an enemy is an enemy. This could be the school bully who just won’t let up; it could be the laid off co-worker who takes their anger out in the workplace; it could be the bad guy who wants what you have and will take it at any cost. When you listen to any story of violent crime, you can see that the enemy is the enemy; period.
How does Military defense help
When you are targeted for a crime, there are only moments that go by. This is something that you can learn very quickly if you do any amount of research into current news stories. A girl is taken because she walked down the wrong street and gave herself no way to escape. In just moments, the bad guy was able to assess the situation and see that she was blocked in by a tall fence. His opportunity is there and he takes it.
Why does military self defense help with this type of situation? Because it helps you to see where danger is before you would otherwise. Learning military self defense is different than taking a one-day rape clinic or self defense clinic. Military self defense is not afraid to acknowledge that violence is violent; and therefore teaches you and your family the most effective ways to protect yourself should you ever need to.

Good stuff, "Why does military self defense help with this type of situation? Because it helps you to see where danger is before you would otherwise." And that is the first line of defense, awareness.
